VANOS is the BMW equivalent of Toyota's VVTI or Honda's V-TEC.
Its a variable valve timing, basically opens and closes valves individually at the best ''performance wise'' time.
The ONLY Hellrot Red 323 in the world, emmm except for the other few thousand dotted around the world.

VANOS comes in the 6-cylinder engines only as far as I know. 4-cylinder engines do not have VANOS. To read more about vanos, check this How Vanos Work

What year did they start using the VANOS? I have a 1994 325i. I am guessing I have a VANOS on my engine. For now mine appears to be quiet, when it goes bad how much does it cost approx. to fix it?
